What a fun field trip!

Kohl's class took a walking tour of Bluffton last week and it was so much fun! I was glad to chaperone, as I learned so much about the town that we live in!

Kohl's Big Party!!!

What a fun birthday party that Kohl had. We hosted all of his classmates, as well as a few good friends at the new bowling alley, here in Bluffton. We bowled, decorated cupcakes, ate pizza and finished up with a  frenzy in the arcade. Lots of fun were had by all, but it was an action packed day!

All of the gang sang a (loud) chorus of "happy birthday" to Kohl, and yes, there are 19 girls in his class and only 6 boys! They're all so cute!

Best day ever!!!

How often do you get to ride your new 4-Wheeler while wearing a red cape? Not often enough... Happy Birthday, Kohlie (and thanks Uncle Jono)!

Happy Birthday, Kohl!

Kohl is having a great birthday! He opened presents yesterday, this morning and this afternoon! We're having spaghetti and ice cream cake for dessert (of course).

Painting Party!

At the birthday party, Merritt won the guessing contest to see how many gum balls were in the container... Her guess was 175 (which she felt like was way too many)! She's feeling a little sad that the ONE thing she gave up for Lent was.... gum.
Merritt went to a birthday party today where she painted the cutest little picture!

It's Summertime in Bluffton (although it is still March)

We spent our school free day at the pool with friends and family. Suntans in spring? Absolutely...

Reunited and it feels so good!

I found this cookbook at the store this week and was so glad to be reunited with some of my favorite childhood memories! The Betty Crocker Cookbook for Boys and Girls was perhaps the beginning of my love for the culinary arts (although I can't say that we made a ton of recipes from it). I can remember looking at the puctures and thinking that everything liked so great! Merritt liked reading about each of the children that tested the recipes. Good times...

Monsignor's Big Day

The kids were all spiffed up this morning in anticipation of the mass for their school's "Father Cellini" to become "Monsignor Cellini" today. Nails were clipped, shoes were polished, and uniforms were ironed (so was Merritt's hair... she loves that flat iron). The school kids sang a precious (and well-rehearsed) song to him and were rewarded with a day off of school tomorrow!

Pinewood Derby Results!

This is the third of 4 Pinewood Derby races (one in each lane of the track) where Kohl came in 2nd place! Overall, he came in 2nd twice and 3rd twice (although if you ask him, he came in 2nd 3 times and 3rd only once... we just went with it). He got a very nice medal and the best reward of all- he gets to keep his beautiful car and play with it instead of preserving it for the upcoming district rally! Woo hoo!!!

His car is the second from the end (closest to camera). Very fast!!!
Just a few of the contenders at Pack 212's Pinewood Derby yesterday. Kohl's super cool car is the blue and orange one, 5th from the end.
